Canon 7d Mark ii – sports shooting test

Standing taking shots of cricket games take time and timing. Both shots were taken about 40-50 meters from the subject, using the 70-200 f4 IS lens, shot jpeg and processed with Perfectly Clear is PSE. All handheld no tripod. AF point were the centre cluster with centre and surrounding mini squares. Both were cropped by about 35% from the original. The amount of detail the image still retains at such a long distance and higher ISO is amazing. With a 300mm or 400mm lens this camera would perform even better for sports. The detail is not that dissimilar than what I could achieve with a Canon 6d cropped to the same level. Click on the pictures to see a larger version.
