Does the focus menu seem all too hard? Well its actually reasonably simple so long as you take some time to work through the menu system. I’m still testing various modes of focussing, but I have discovered a few simple tips to get more shots in focus more often.
Tip 1 – adjust AI Servo for focus priority
Go to the AF menu and the 2nd tab along will allow you to select AI Servo 1st image priority – now push the SET button
Move the focus priority to FOCUS rather than RELEASE. Then OK.
Repeat the same process for AI Servo 2nd priority and from my testing more pictures will remain in focus in every AF scenario.
Tip 2 – illuminate focus points when using more than one point
On the last AF tab scroll down to VF display illumination then hit SET
Press the Q button
Scroll to Illuminated then MENU to get back
Now your AF points are illuminated in low light situations 🙂
Amazing that some services are still in demand despite the advent of technology. People willing to pay upwards of $11 for a shine. Even more amazing is the iPhone 5s that fits in my pocket & adapts to low light conditions. Edited with Perfectly Clear on iPhone.
